Thank you for 'bearing' with us.
We are very grateful for the understanding shown by all our guests who have stayed with us over the last 2 months. Weather has delayed some of the work
until the end of July however now the construction sounds are less intrusive than before and will diminish further over the next few weeks.
Now you can all look forward to the good bits. On your next stay, you can expect to see more drawer space and brighter lighting in the bathrooms.
The bedrooms will seem softer with curtains replacing the wooden shutters and light duvets will be a welcome alternative to the blankets. Some of the
furniture is also being upgraded.
The new building will house a purpose built spa as well as a meeting space for up to 40 persons. |

Candid Gallery
We think it might be fun if we could start, and continue to add to, a gallery of photos supplied by guests that have stayed here over the years. We
would welcome any of your holiday snaps with your permission to post them on our web page. They could be of you, the hotel or Langkawi in General;
artistic, interesting or humorous. The best every month may win a two night credit on their next visit and possible publication in this newsletter.
This dramatic image was taken by Peter Banks, a professional photographer admittedly, who stayed in 2003 and managed to capture the spectacular
effects of a tropical thunderstorm. |

BBQ for Two
In answer to requests for more variety and pandering to the would-be-chef tendencies in some of our guests, Peter Ting and his crew have introduced a
simple barbeque, ideal for two.
Keeping it local and simple, a purpose built table has been constructed to incorporate a Chinese clay charcoal fuelled cooking pot. Dishes are chosen
from a menu of raw ingredients. Side dishes of salads, dressings and potatoes can also be chosen. All you have to do is turn up and start cooking.
Sizzling a steak/stay/lobster on a BBQ by the beach. This is what tropical holidays are about! |

MV Casa del Mar
Some of our guests have already experienced the exhilaration of a trip aboard our new 26 foot island explorer, MV Casa del Mar. The 80hp motor means
that it is pretty quick and so journeys often include a complimentary hair restyling.
The hotel's name sake was launched officially in March this year and is now available for day charter, island drops and hops, castaway picnics and fishing.
Captain Amir presided over the traditional maritime blessing of the boat with an oversized teapot to sprinkle the Bomoh-sanctified herbs and water. The
ceremony was witnessed by hotel guests who were among the first to try her out. |
